TL;DR

In May, OPENFORMAT tentatively beta launched its first product "Compete and Reward". We integrated with BuildShip and kicked off a four-week hackathon. We're focusing on no-code platforms to engage indie builders and preparing for a branding exercise to better communicate our product(s) and vision. Our documentation received a significant overhaul, and we launched a new dashboard for developers. We're gearing up for our next fundraising round and a had a super busy month of community engagement and live build sessions.

Product and Market Developments

  • Compete and Reward Beta Launch: Our initial product, currently in beta, is designed to allow builders/creators of all levels to build gamified web3 applications incredibly quickly and easily. This allows anyone with limited technical ability to build a web3 application in hours.

  • BuildShip Integration: We've successfully integrated BuildShip nodes and templates into the BuildShip platform, enhancing functionality and user accessibility. This integration also includes a four-week competitive hackathon to promote our tools and gather valuable user feedback.

  • Dashboard V2: Our new dashboard is now live, offering developers a streamlined interface to get their API keys, manage accounts, and oversee their dApps. This upgrade is part of our commitment to constant iteration and improvement, laying a stronger foundation for future enhancements.

  • Onchain Billing Integration: We’ve made significant progress on our onchain billing integration. This feature will enable users to leverage smart contracts for blockchain transactions, with a single chain model currently implemented and a cross-chain model in the pipeline.

  • Badge Contract Refactor: To improve user experience and operational efficiency, we've refactored our badge contracts. This update allows for quicker and easier badge creation via our updated dashboard.

  • Strategic Partnerships: We’re so happy to have made partnerships with BuildShip, FlutterFlow, Ambitious Labs, and Machinations for the June Hackathon. These collaborations are instrumental for all involved in pushing forwards our (collective) vision for the next internet. This is the community of our dreams 🌞

  • Technical Achievements: We've resolved production issues related to API service mismatches, ensuring a stable and reliable platform for our users. Additionally, we've updated our metrics subgraph to facilitate billing triggers and other key functionalities. Profiling and integrating multiple chains at a poc level has also been a highlight this month.

Community and Outreach

  • Hackathon Initiatives: Our four-week hackathon kicked off May 24th. We're running this competitive hack with BuildShip, where significant partners' CEOs are judges, including FlutterFlow, Ambitious Labs, and Machinations.

  • User Feedback: Initial feedback from our community has been overwhelmingly positive. Users appreciate our platform’s ease of use and the transformative potential of our tools.

  • Continued refinement of our beta products based on comprehensive user feedback.
