Hyper Wordle: An OPENFORMAT experiment

Wordle took the world by storm in 2022.
But maybe it could have been something more...
A couple of weeks ago I delivered a presentation in Bristol at YGWYG discussing another way Wordle could have existed and potentially thrived.
How?
By becoming more than a single app and instead turning into an open source and community-built ecosystem of connected apps.wrote a post about this here.
With the original Wordle creator, Josh Wardle, benefitting from each new Wordle clone that was created and users being able to move seamlessly between all of these clones.
Since that presentation we've had some questions from people wanting to learn more, so last week we sat down and recorded the presentation again.

Some context:
The whole presentation was about the concept of shifting from apps to ecosystems of connected apps, using Wordle as our (deliberately simple) example.
This is not about the HOW but about WHY we may want to think in these ways. What this could enable. There’s a lot of talk about technology, but in reality very few people give a shit about the blockchain. A sentence you’ll hear on repeat at our offices in Bristol.

People want to understand why and what’s possible. My mission: to bring to life why without mentioning the technology until the very end. The video below was my first attempt and Wordle is just the beginning.
We'll be sharing a lot more about the HOW soon, as we continue to build on our experiment. Follow us on Substack, LinkedIn, Discord, X, to keep up to date 🙏
