How Aartoo Almost Doubled Meaningful Engagement in a Top Memecoin Community

Aartoo’s community brain helped Turbo lift daily messages by ~50% and boost engagement intensity by 43% by fine-tuning to culture and adding in-channel reward notifications -> driving meaningful participation, not noise.
At Aartoo, a big part of what we do is to help you understand your community.
We help you understand your community members across Discord and Telegram and the different contributions they are making.
Not every community is the same, they all have different visions and goals, different target audiences and different ways they want their community members to contribute.
Some members are helping build the projects of the future… some are asking “wen moon?” and anticipating when they can go and buy their gold-plated Lamborghini… and some are making cat memes.
Regardless of your communities goal, these community members are all participating in a larger, overall movement. It is important to us that you understand how they are contributing, who is adding real value, and who is just airdrop farming.
Recently, we ran some experiments to really test just how good Aartoo and our community brain is at identifying the members who are adding meaningful value to a community.
To do this we worked with a well-known memecoin community called Turbo.
Being a Top 20 meme coin, with 25,000 community members across Discord and Telegram and lots of activity in both channels, this was a great opportunity to see how Aartoo can operate at scale.
After a discussion with the Turbo team to understand their goals, community values and how they wanted to reward their members, everything was set to go ahead…

Messaging from Turbo Telegram Channel
We ran 2 seasons of rewards, one in June and one in September, and these ran across Discord and Telegram.
Each season giving prizes to the community members who finished at the top of the leaderboard. With one honourable mention, who did not make the top 3, but added a tonne of value throughout the season.

Here are the winners for Season 2
What is the community brain? 🧠
Aartoo has a sophisticated memory, which brings together highly specific knowledge about your community, broader wisdom about web3 communities and their best practices plus much more.
For each community, we go through a process called brain fine-tuning where Aartoo learns how the specific community works. It gathers data from chats, campaigns, rewards, and sentiment then analyses what meaningful engagement looks like for the community members.
From there, it updates its logic, tone, and recommendations so insights and actions always feel aligned with your community’s real behaviour and goals.

The Community Brain
In season 2 we added reward notifications in channel on Telegram, and in the rewarded users’ DM on Discord. This meant that the users knew exactly when they had been rewarded and what they had done that was worthy of being rewarded.
The end goal was to compare the impact of the meaningful contribution rate and other contribution metrics between these seasons and see what we found.

We had some fun along the way…
Along the way, we matched Turbo's fun visual style by integrating Aartoo with familiar Toad visuals from the Turbo project into the season's social media promotion.

The Comparison
After two seasons of many different types of community contributions (my favourite being the different styles of cute toads…) what did we find?
We saw Discord messages per day was up over 82% in Season 2 vs Season 1.
Telegram messages per day were up over 21% and this led to an almost 50% increase overall in messages per day.
As the volume of messages increased, meaningful interactions also increased. The number of meaningful interactions per 100 messages was consistent, which indicates that the kudos campaign was driving real conversations rather than noise.
The Turbo Toad Token average price rose 7.5% and BTC average price rose 8.2% across the seasons, far below the 48% increase in messages per day, supporting that the uplift was product-driven, not just market beta.
Trajectory Matters
We even saw improvements within season 2 from the first 14 days to the last 14 days.
Daily messages increased by 48%, while meaningful interactions rose 26% versus the baseline period. This displays the importance of Aartoos brain fine-tuning, as well as auto reward notifications, and the impact it has on user behaviour.
Engagement intensity
Arguably, the most important metric in this study is Engagement intensity, as this reflects your core community participants who are the real drivers in community building.
You can see the importance of core members on this power use curve chart. As a community, if you are able to harness the productivity of your 7% users who are active for 30 days in a month, then you will get the most out of your community goals as a project!
When looking at the data of the Turbo seasons, an impressive climb in messages per active user of 43% was evident, showing that core members did more, not just more members doing a little.

Overall Aartoo’s impact on the Turbo community was clear, almost as clear as Turbo’s love for toad memes.
What this case study shows:
Understanding how your community communicates and what they value makes engagement organic.
By aligning Aartoo’s community brain with Turbo’s unique culture and reward structure, we amplified meaningful participation, not just message volume.
Data-driven insights + genuine community understanding can transform even the most chaotic meme ecosystem into a well-tuned engine of creativity and collaboration.
As Aartoo continues to evolve, the goal remains clear: help every community unlock its true potential.
